Our story
Built from lived experience
Our daughter had severe cerebral palsy and complex medical needs. Chronic reflux meant she had frequent micro-inhalation, which brought regular fevers, sickness and hospitalisations. Over the years her care involved GPs, neurologists, orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists, speech therapists, dietitians, respite carers and support workers — not to mention a long list of medicines that seemed to change every few months.
We found ourselves telling her story again and again. At every appointment, in every emergency department, with every new carer. The information lived in folders, phone notes, email threads and our own memories — and it was exhausting.
Sadly, our daughter passed away in 2017 after a long and courageous fight. It took time to grieve, and to feel ready to look forward again. When we did, we knew we wanted to turn what we’d learned into something that could help other families.
So we built the tool we wished we’d had: one private place for everything, organised the way carers actually think, and easy to share with the people who help. Personal Care Records is the result, and we’ve made it free so that no family has to go without.
